Re: Credit Goals for 2012

1. Looking forward to my Ch 7 BK falling off my CR in May 2012.

2. Hoping for scores over 700 after BK falls off, and mid 700s by year's end.

3. Start and maintain an emergency fund.

4. App for a rewards card: Chase Freedom, Discover More, BofA 123 Rewards, or PenFed Rewards.

Re: Credit Goals for 2012

Great thread! First of all, I'd like to say that I'm very pleased with what I've accomplished on my credit journey over the course of the past year:

Became 100% consumer debt free - and have stayed that way!!!

Closed FP and Orchard

Invited to apply for and approved for Amex Green

Received a $5000 CLI on my Cap1 Visa

Approved for JCP and Dillards Amex, and have received hefty CLIs on both (currently at $1800 and $4200, respectively)

Have had 2 COs and 1 CA age off of my reports

My FICOs on all three CRAs are above 660 (the cutoff for "Good" credit on the FICO rating scale)

I'm very proud of the above, but I still have a way to go. For 2012, I hope to be able to accomplish the following:

Watch the remaining 2 COs and 1 CA age off my reports

Become approved for a Wells Fargo Cash Rewards Visa and a BoA UCF Alumni Bankamericard Visa

Join the 700 club with at least one, preferably all three, FICO scores

Remain debt free!!!

Rebuilding has been a long journey, but with the information that I've gained from this forum I'm optimistic that I can make it. Here's hoping for a successful 2012!

Re: Credit Goals for 2012

My credit goal is to not be denied for any application, but it is not likely.   I am planning about 4 CC apps mid year, and my guess is I get 2 or 3.

Re: Credit Goals for 2012

My credit goals as of right now involve getting my BofA card to unsecure and maybe getting an Amex card. Other than that, trying to get CLIs without racking up a ton of inquriies. As far as credit that doesn't involve credit cards, I'm going to be applying for a new auto loan, so that's going to murder me with inquiries (unless I happen to get a fantastic pre-approval right off the bat with my first attempt).

800+ across the board, and six months worth of savings. Open another savings account and putting in enough money to cover all my credit card limits just in case of emergency. Also to pay off my 60 month auto loan in 12 months....
