Several months ago after a few unsuccessful attempts at getting Credit One to remove my AF and Lower my APR I had them close my account. It was useful at one point, but did not really need it any more as I had since acquired better cards.
My DW also has an old Credit One card that I have been helping her try to do the same on and no luck. She does not want to close hers yet as it has a 2100.00 CL with 0 Bal now and will effect her overall UTIL.
Come home from work today and she shows me a letter she received from Credit One that reads as follows.....
Dear XXXXX,
Thank you for being a Credit One Bank card member. In appreciation of your excellent payment history with us, we are lowering your variable rate from a 23.9% APR to a 19.9% APR. We are also lowering your Annual Membership Fee from $99 to $45. These changes are our way of thanking you for being a valued Credit One Bank Card member.
Have to say, I never expected to see a letter like this from Credit One !!!
Nice, that is a step in the right direction.
From what I've read on here, so many ppl are jumping ship on them I guess they figured they had to do something if they want to have a better reputation and KEEP a continuous customer base--like the card they're trying to imitate-Capital One! BTW @PC Medic: If you don't mind my asking, how long has your wife had her acct. w/ Cred. 1 and what was her starting limit?
Wow, congratulations! I had no idea they gave limits over $1500 much less reducing the APR and fee. I have had my Credit One card for about 2 1/2 years now, hopefully they will do the same for me soon. My limit is now at $1,100.00.
@Credit-Hoarder.. She has had it since 07 and started 400.00
I gave mine to my fiancé to hold for emergencies..it's a no-fee card and they offered me $250.00 increase for $9.99. I said why not what the heck...
