Credit One - max CL ?

First post! I currently have 3 Credit One cards -- with CLs of 800, 800, and 1,000.

I was reading somewhere that the max CL for these credit lines are 1,500 -- and I wanted to know if anyone has a higher line of credit with them???

I opened my first card with them about 3 years ago -- then instead of getting a CLI, I received a pre-approval offer in the mail for a separate card. Same thing happened very recently.

Hi! And welcome to the forums. First off, looks like you've got some other great cards in your profile - do these credit one cards have fees? If so you may wanna think about closing them.

To answer your question I believe $2,500 is the max for any credit one card.

Discover It (Student) $1500 | Capital One QS $2300 | Amex BCE $4800 | Chase FU $3200 | Amex Green NPSL | CSP $4200 | Discover it $3000

What is your reasoning for keeping 3 CreditOne cards?  I count six good cards in your sig, I would work on those rather than trying to get a max card from one of the absolute bottom feeder issuers in the business.

Re: Credit One - max CL ?

@Lomaneit's definitely not $1,500 as I'm at $1,700 with one now. It has taken an extraodinarily long time to get to that point though. I would drop the 2 800 cards and just work on getting the $1k card up higher but even then, as already mentioned, there are so many better cards. Probably my highest APR card and socked but just like with Capital One, served it's purpose.

Did not realize they had such a low CL at $2,500 but oddly have had better luck with them than my Capital Ones ($750 and $500)

The credit one trifecta. lol.  You have some decent card's. Why on earth do you have 3 of these?

I have one and it just hit the 3 year mark. Still at $400. It served its purpose, closing it after the 6th month no annual fee deal.

Re: Credit One - max CL ?

I had $2400 on one and $1900 on another when I killed them, and they offered a CL, no account fees for 6 months and refund the last 6 months of AF if I kept them.

@Chazzay12 , Thanks for the response!

Unfortunately - these do have pretty bad fees. I want to say $100 annual fees - for each card.

Obviously horrible cards - but I hate to close them because 2 of them are older accounts compared to my other accounts.... My balances are close to zero on all 3... -

May close these when my utilization gets closer to 20%

Re: Credit One - max CL ?

@MT64 Thanks for the info!! And I appreciate the advice. I'm nervous about closing the accounts tho -- as they are older cards compared to my other accounts - I'm 26 yo - recent grad student. most of my accounts have been opened within last 2 years.

I also have found that capital one has given me crap CL. I finally went from 350 to 500 about a month ago -- but even that was baffling to me, considering my perfect history with them... & my income. I've had an account with them for about 7 years

Re: Credit One - max CL ?

@EAJuggalo These are some of the oldest accounts I have -- almost all of my solid accounts have been opened within the past 2 years (recent grad student, 26 yo). So I'm pretty skeptical to close them..

But you're right. APR is horrible (29%) + ridiculous annual fees on each of them - $100 each.

If you're worried about closing them hurting your credit age, fear not! It wouldn't affect your credit age. They'll still remain on your reports for up to 10 years. Smiley Happy
