Re: Credit One - max CL ?

^^^^ this!!! 1000% @OmarGB9  as he said.

The cards have served their purpose and provided a good foundation with on time payments. It's time to close those suckers and wave goodbye to Credit One and the high fees. Make sure they're paid and have no trailing interest after closure.

@EAJuggalo These are some of the oldest accounts I have -- almost all of my solid accounts have been opened within the past 2 years (recent grad student, 26 yo). So I'm pretty skeptical to close them..

But you're right. APR is horrible (29%) + ridiculous annual fees on each of them - $100 each.

There is no need to be paying fees for cards that aren't giving you anything.  The cards will be on your reports for up to 10 more years, by then the good cards you have will have aged far beyond what you have now.  They served their purpose but it's time to move on from them.  Those three cards combined account for 10% of your total CL, I bet if you close them and bring utilization down to 29% you can have all of that back in the next six months.

Re: Credit One - max CL ?

Can we return to the original question on the thread please? What is the maximum credit limit for CreditOne? We had one answer of $2,500. Thanks

First post! I currently have 3 Credit One cards -- with CLs of 800, 800, and 1,000.

I was reading somewhere that the max CL for these credit lines are 1,500 -- and I wanted to know if anyone has a higher line of credit with them???

I opened my first card with them about 3 years ago -- then instead of getting a CLI, I received a pre-approval offer in the mail for a separate card. Same thing happened very recently.

@Scottisthename  not to sound rude, but are you the forum police?

The questions was answered as well as other solid advice that OP didn't know about. If you have additional questions for yourself feel free to ask them, but OP seems happy with the information.

FWIW, I've seen one or two people around here that had $5000 CL's on the Credit One Amex, but they still had a $95 AF IIRC. Sans any fees, I could see holding onto one of these, but otherwise you can do just as well elseewhere without the fee's.

You've got your foot in the door with the likes of Discover, Chase, NFCU and GS... There's no reason to continue throwing money away on subprime cards from Credit One or anyone else for that fact. As said earlier, the CRA's will keep your positive history around for up to a decade and it will still help your AAoA.

Now also looking at your profile, you're at 38% UTL? You may want to get that under 30% before you close anything though.

Re: Credit One - max CL ?

I think 3-5K is max that I have seen with either NASCAR or AMEX version!

At this point CreditOne is not catering to people with good credit! They are bottom feeders. Therefore they are not going to trust anyone with high limits! That is not their business practice.

In reality they are looking for low scores! Once your score improves they don't bother you with junk mail anymore!

We all made mistakes, and most of us went with CreditOne because we didn't know better... Once you know, do yourself a favor and just move on!

To answer your question I believe $2,500 is the max for any credit one card.

@Chazzay12  @Scottisthename

Negative ghostrider.  My x5 card has a $3k limit.  Smiley LOL

As for all the hate towards Credit One... I'm not in that club yet.  My $1700 Wander has no AF.... the x5 has a $95 AF but it's also 5% back on $5k in purchases so I'll get that back.  That's the only AF card I have other than my AmEx which gets me free flights.

Down the road I'll drop Credit One I'm sure but it won't be because they are charging me ridiculous fees.
