DANGIT NFCU

Well I finally sent in my paystubs and bank statements and they pushed through the Overdraft Line Of Credit for 12,500 which is great.

The bad:

After all the threads I read this week of everyone getting sweet CLI, i asked for a CLI online trying my luck. WTH was I thinking!? I just got CLI happy and forgot how HP NFCU is...so I got two HP and no increase. DANGIT!! so mad about that. So I called in and asked for the increase saying I wanted to use the credit cards to pay for a veternarian bill and get the points, but didnt want to max out my card or be close to max out.

The CSR tried to raise either card, but it was a no go. So the kind CSR recommended getting a personal loan for the extra funds instead of using my credit card since I couldnt get the increase. I thought "I dont NEED the increase, but maybe an installment loan would be cool to report". So guess what...ANOTHER HP! thats like 6 HP in the past week (care credit, 2 chase, 3 NFCU..ok 5) but damn!

So i was approved for $3300 personal loan at 18% which is pretty brutal but I backed myself into a wall with all these dang HP I thought i needed to get something out of it.

I havent picked up the check yet, I am trying to figure out a smart way to use it. Not sure if an installment loan is worth the interest.

Little frustrated, but happy with the LOC at least. I need to garden SERIOUSLY bad. its ridiculous. I have like 17 Inquires now!!! Its ridic. My only excuse is I tried to paste the link into my SIG to put the first month gardening symbol, and it didnt work correctly (user error im sure), so I felt like I wasnt officially in ha

Venting over.

And if youre interested in my scores and cant see because of mobile here it is:

TU 667 EQ 659 EX FAKO 660 ton of inquires, 50k income, new accounts, 18% util. member of NFCU for 2 months

ps, will the LOC report without me using it? Do you have any ideas of how I can use the $3300 in a positive/beneficial way and making it worth the interest???

Re: DANGIT NFCU

Just put the loan amount into a savings, draw the pathetic interest rate, and pay the installment with the loan money that's in the saving.

The LOC will report even if you don't use it. Mine does, and haven't touched it yet.

Re: DANGIT NFCU

by "draw the pathetic interest rate" do you mean just EAT IT and pay it? its a five year loan which I can obviously pay any time. It came out to paying almost $1800 interest if I take the full five years...

and thanks for the LOC knowledge, thats good news

You can declined the loan, and just lose an inquiry or two instead of paying all that interest!

Don't feel obligated to take that loan because if you do, you might hit their "max" of credit limit combined.

Re: DANGIT NFCU

definitely true. I could use the money of course, but even the LOC interest rate is lower than the loan. so are my credit cards. ii ii ii
