DCU Platinum Visa Rates vs. Scores

I'm on the DCU love wagon with many others. I thought some would find this useful. The rep gave me their cut offs for various rates on their basic DCU Platinum Rewards Visa.

EQ 675 - 11.5% APR

EQ 700 - 9.5% APR

EQ 730 - 8.5% APR - BEST RATE!

Additionally, incase anyone did not know, they do not have a different rate for cash advances. so you could advance yourself a portion of your available credit into your checking account and use that to pay off a balance on something with a much higher rate.

DCU ( pulled 3/29/13) EQ04 683 | Amex (pulled 3/28/13) EX 760 | US Bank (pulled 3/28/13) EX 753
CreditKarma (4/19/13) TU-TR 701 | TU Vantage 788 | USAA FAKO (3/31/13) EX 728, EQ 699, TU 737 |
Inquiries (4/18/13) EX 13 | EQ 13 | TU 14

Yes, count me in on that love wagon! My rate is 9.5% and I'm happy with it! 😊

15.25% with a 636 eq at the time I want to say .. just have one card better at 13.9% right now and should be able to get a better rate with DCU in the coming months.

Re: DCU Platinum Visa Rates vs. Scores

I'm really trying to stay in the garden but once my report is updated this month it should be over 700.  Only thing holding me back is a $2.5k unpaid collection that's due to fall off this summer.  Aaaahhh,  I know I should wait but I really want that card.

I'd wait until it falls off. That's a lot for DCU to overlook IMO

And Lord knows they take long enough to approve you without any negatives!

Re: DCU Platinum Visa Rates vs. Scores

Anybody take out a cash advance from them before? Is the interest charged like a regular purchase where you can pay it off before they start charging you interest?

If it's like that I kinda wanna do it to lower my utilization on my Discover before statement closing and then pay the cash advance off on payday.
