I think most CU pull EQ, but don't quote me on that.
DCU pulls EQ for membership, and another EQ for credit.
CUs in general pull from any of the three CBs. You can look at the credit pulls database for details.

Sorry to be ignorant, but would it result in another HP to open a checking account?
No, but if concerned since I opened my accounts a long time ago, might as well call on Tuesday.
HP for membership, HP for credit products. Neither checking nor savings is a credit product, no pull is my understanding.
When I spoke to them on Friday, everything checking or otherwise is a HP, regardless of previous account relationships. I had to agree to a HP for a business checking account, and if I wanted any adjustment on my current car loan, or a CLI or APR reduction on my Visa, those would each be additional HPs, each and every one of them.
Interesting, maybe that changed. Anything loan or credit card related I get, the business checking account is surprising to me. Thanks for the heads up, I guess fortunately my checking and savings accounts there are long since setup.
They seem to pull EQ only on me.
I received 3 hard pulls, 1 for membership and savings, 1 for checking and 1 for credit.
I got
1 Pull for Membership + Checking + Savings
1 Pull for Visa
1 Pull (30+ days later) for Auto.
Do the membership/checking/savings inquiries get categorized differently from the loan product inquiries? Or are they equal opportunity short-term blemishes on your CR?

No, it's a hp just as if you were applying for credit
