Sorry i had to just vent.....So i bought a TV from dell on black friday, tracking number says i should get it around the 3rd its now the 5th and no TV. I call the shipping company and they said dell hasn't even gave them the TV to ship yet..**bleep**? I call dell to cancel the order and get a run around for almost two hours until finally i hung up. Wouldn't be so bad its just i got rid of my old TV on the 3rd thinking i was getting a new one ughhhh. oh well dell customer service absolutely sucks period.
Dell customer service does indeed suck. I've fought wars with them. But shipping was never the subject of our disputes. Not sure I would put this all on Dell yet. Shipping companies are at their busiest this time of year. Sorry you jettisoned your old TV. Good luck.

is dell preffered backed by GE?
No they are backed by WebBank and they do report to all 3 CB's. They are very generous with credit limits.

From a credit standpoint, they were good to me, too... just a few years post-BK they approved me for $4000. I never ended up buying that computer, but I still have the credit Dell DPA open and at that same CL. Every year and a half I buy something cheap and bill it to the DPA. Last year it was a $6 USB flash drive. PIF before the statement even cut. One tiny purchase every 18 months seems to be enough to keep the line open, active, and reporting, so why not keep it around?
I have bought 3 computers from Dell and they have all broken or had some internal malfunctions where a Dell technician has had to come out and replace components in my computer. I've been done with Dell for some time now. When I had an account with them...I don't think their credit was through webbank.
Hmm. I am typing this on a Dell PC that I bought a little more than a year ago with my Dell Preferred account.
12 months no interest...paid it off in six.
....and the pc still works fine...
