Whenever i have to call recon i try to act nonchalant about it helps put me at ease), I just call and explain that i applied and noticed that the approval was not instant and was there anyhting else they needed from me to help the process along, usually they don't ask for something and simply review the application.
On the phone right now...will update soon!
I'm on pins and needles. GL!
I apped yesterday and got the same message. Gonna call around lunchtime EST.
Alright...still a denial. She says the letter I will receive states the denial is due to an old BK (almost 8 years old - will fall off my report 10/15). However, she said that isn't necesarily the issue since they've already extended credit to me post BK, back in 2008, and that account has always been in good standing. She stated I've also "handled my credit well since the BK".
So, I asked if I should reapply in two years when the BK falls off. She said, no, that I can try again sooner. She was unable to override the denial because the CSP has a minimum opening CL that my current lines don't support. Maybe they're a lender that likes to see others giving higher CL's first? My highest reporting CL is $3500 right now since my 10K AMEX and $4K Discover aren't reporting yet.
Bummer. I am going to wait for scores to recover after taking a hit for two new accts and 4 HP's.

I wonder what factors chase takes when they decide for/against giving a CS/CSP to people with no 5K lines, since they definitely do occassionaly give them out to people with fairly low lines (i had 8600 across 5 cards, 3000 on my highest when i got approved for Sapphire)
