Re: Denied by WaMu

They are unpredictable.  High scores can get denied while low scores get approved.  They've been that way ever since they became a popular topic for discussion on this forum.

Re: Denied by WaMu

Yeah, I know how they are...lol.  Maybe someone can answer this:  When calculating a credit score does the FICO formula factor in all hard inquiries or is there maximum number that the formula accepts?

Re: Denied by WaMu

There is no maximum number, but the more you have, the less each new one hurts.

FICO counts all hard inquiries within the last year, with the exception of certain inquiries that are deduplicated.

Re: Denied by WaMu

So if a guy has 57 inq's, it would be safe to say that one more isn't gonna hurt (much)...huh?   LOL

Yep, as long as many of them aren't deduplicated so that he actually only has a couple counting against him. Smiley Tongue

Re: Denied by WaMu

I have fallen into a pattern when applying for new credit. Whether by accident or by some subconscious safety net, I'm not aware of.

The app'ing spree seems to stop at the number 3. Don't ask me why. I've had 3 of these mini-apping sprees since coming here in mid September, last year.

But what has been done, seems to be working, and I'm sure not gonna rock the boat. Smiley Wink

(just a casual observation, and I'm very casual. lol)

Re: Denied by WaMu

Wow, unknown_entity... Your scores arent that much off from mine, my TU is just a tad bit higher at 622 and I was approved for a 1000 CL.

Re: Denied by WaMu

I don't worry about the application hits to much.  I look it as shopping.  There shouldn't be a score hit for inq's in my opinion.  I mean, your rates don't rise when you go shopping for insurance.  (the insurance carriers don't go assuming you are gonna die or wreck your car).  So why the assumption of financial hardship when we shop for credit?  I have heard that the "new FICO" will lower the impact of inquiries on our scores.  One can only hope...lol.

Re: Denied by WaMu

Truth is they do what they want to do.  Maybe I'm blacklisted or something...lol.  I was gonna try Hooters again but looking at their interest rates and AF's I may be better served to let a few more payments hit the CRA's this month and apply elsewhere...lol.  I should be 680-700 by the 10th of April.  Mailed off 5k in payments on the 12th so when they all report I might owe 400 on a 7000 total credit line.  I ought to be able to get a fairly descent card then.  Smiley Wink
