Denied for Freedom, Approved for Citi $4000

I am 18 years old, and have been trying to have the best credit score possible since before I was of age.

Currently an AU on an Amex Blue Cash opened 8 months ago CL @2200 and a Home Depot Card CL $6500

Both are reporting to all agencies, and I have 1 personal loan thru a CU for $3000

Ficos are : Experian 721 (only one that reports loan) , TU 739, and EQ: 738

I was denied for a Chase Freedom, and a Discover More

NEXT DAY, approved for a Citi Forward Visa with a CL of $4000.

Recon on the Discover was unsucessful, even when they tried a student card (i am a student), so was Freedom.  They said I had no accounts that i was PRIMARILY responsible for.

P.S. These recons were done before Citi approved me

Should I call for a recon AFTER i was approved for Citi???

chase told me they do not approve people unless they have generally at least a 2 year history on their own since your 18 and just now obtained your first card that is the reason why you were denied.

I got approved for a Freedom after only having my own card for one month, so pretty sure that two year rule is not in effect.

No! I wasn't aware that Amex did this.  The soft inquiry won't have any effect on my AU card for Amex will it?
