Thank you very much! I had no idea of the prequalify soft hit on amex. I have heard about the backdate, but didn't know if it would work for a AU account.
with a soft hit it cant hurt to try
u will get a hard hit if ur approved
If by chance I am approved by any other CC company, will that affect my Citi approval?
no,, most companys want to compete 4 u to use thier card, they dont make any money if u dont use it
Thank you so much for all your help!!!!
lets use know what happens

@Currently an AU on an Amex Blue Cash opened 8 months ago CL @2200 and a Home Depot Card CL $6500
Both are reporting to all agencies, and I have 1 personal loan thru a CU for $3000
Ficos are : Experian 721 (only one that reports loan) , TU 739, and EQ: 738
I was denied for a Chase Freedom, and a Discover More
NEXT DAY, approved for a Citi Forward Visa with a CL of $4000.
Recon on the Discover was unsucessful, even when they tried a student card (i am a student), so was Freedom. They said I had no accounts that i was PRIMARILY responsible for.
P.S. These recons were done before Citi approved me
Should I call for a recon AFTER i was approved for Citi???
With Chase/Discover denying you, I would try to get 6mos / 1 yr good history on the Citibank card and re-app. Also, tike PP have said, try to pre-qual for AMEX.

Age of accounts, Income?????
Your situation sounds similar to mine, My scores are all above 720!!!! I couldnt believe they would deny.
I'd imagine it's due to your age. 4k on a forward card is still really good. You sound really credit savvy for your age. I'm sure you'll do fine. I thank god no one gave me a card with 4k when I was 18. I can't even imagine the hole I would have dug with that.

Scores with a thin file are very misleading and the fact that you had no cards of your own prior to Forward has a much greater affect on your credit worthiness. Give your Citi account some time to age then reapp.
