Dicover in Europe?

This is the first year I'll be traveling to Euroep with a Discover can I use it?

No.  They only take Amex.  You should be ok.

Well, FWIW, AmEx isn't working very well over there these days. It really is Visa and MC.

Discover isn't readily accepted in Europe.  Your safest best is Visa/MC/AMEX.

My $1K HSBC Discover is not going to take me far. I am glad I have my Visa / MC from my CU's. Just in time before the Spring/Summer Vacations start. I might take family to Holland for a Vacation and put my Platinum Card to work.

My las couple trips to Europe turned out to be Amex heartbrekaers. ALLLOT of places refuse to take any Amex in Rome, Amsterdam, London, Madrid , Barcelona and Venice. You can use it for the Hotel and the Flights and in some 4-5 start restausrants but when it comes to  local shopping and little restaurants you will get the brakes put on. TAKE A VISA!!!! Trust ME

I have lived in Europe since 2002 and nobody accepts DISCOVER and only a few places take AMEX (mostly hotels and airlines).  Definately bring a VISA & MC because you will run into some shops/restuarants that will only take one or the other.  If you see the word MAESTRO that means MC.  Also make sure you have a cash option as well because some of the smaller shops won't take a CC at all.
