Discover CLI denied (reasons)

I just got my letter now from Discover explaining why my CLI request was denied. First reason was too many new accounts opened in past months (I had 2 that started reporting) and too many inquiries (which, ironically, TU had the fewest recent inquiries in the past few months, compared to EX and EQ). Anyway, they used the Discover FICO score they pulled last month for my statement as their basis for the decision, so it wasn't another HP. At the time of the request, I had about 15% util. Just wanted to post this in case someone is in the same boat. I requested for an increase of $750 (total CL $1500, current CL is $750). No counter. Spoke to a representative since my CLI online button is stuck at "request pending".

Starting Score: No credit history in July 2013, 663 in August (lender pulled)
Current Score: 773 (Discover FICO), 749 (DCU EQ)
Ultimate goal: Buy a house in 2016!

Not yet. Was just trying my luck. Will wait until the inquiries on TU fall off (which should be next month) and pay off the Discover card before the next statement cuts (right now util is about 40%), and then I will prob venture out of the garden at that point.
