Discover CLI letter

I got a letter from Discover saying that I had the option to increase my limit and had 3 options. I could increase 1.5 k, 2k, or not at all. I'm about to call the number and see what happens.

Background: I've tried multiple times to secure a CLI on my Discover Escape card. I only have a 2k limit on that card. Since I get double miles on everything after I upgraded from the Miles, I want to use it much more. I tried for a cli and they said they had to pull my credit. I don't want a hard pull for a cli, so I've declined. I took a survey after declining to move further in the cli application process. I then got this letter.

I will report back with results.

The letter was legit.  I called the number and spoke to a Discover rep. She looked up the offer and I told her I chose option number 2.  She put me on hold and said that she needed to do a soft pull and look at my debt to income ratio. She came back on the phone and stated that I had not been late and had been making large payments and paying off my card. She gave me the system recommended increase.  I'm sure I could have gotten more if I didn't already have so much available credit.  

My limit doubled to 4k.  While I wish I had more available, I think I'm good with that for now.  If you haven't had luck with Discover, make sure you fill out one of their surveys and let them know about it. I'm sure that's what prompted the letter I received.

Yes. I recently started spending much more on the card due to my time in the flyertalk forum.  I needed to get double miles on all of my purchases, so I upgraded to the Miles. I needed more breathing room with my credit limit. I'm pleased.
