Discover IT high credit limits

My discover is my highest CL right now, at $24k

Discover actually called me 3-4 weeks ago and asked if I wanted a CLI. 

I said sure if no HP was required - asked my income, and moved my limit up 3K to 16.2K.

I'm sitting at 25k with Discover. Not the most gracious with credit limits, but far from the worst.

2011 - Intial CL was $1500 - w/ BK

2012  CL was $3500 via HP

2013 CL was $5000 via HP

Dec 2013 - Requested CL - they asked what I wanted I said $3500 - Was an instant approval via SP - From CSR's response - I wondered if I could have gotten more.  Called back within a couple of days - made another request - They said they would call me - but I logged into my acount later to see another $3500 -  So $7000 SP CLI last December - Total CL = $12000.  It might have helped that the BK had fallen off a few months prior.

Discover is strange...I remember applying over and over for Discover it and they always rejected me...I was around 636 eq....a month later, a collection fell of and I went up to 666.....they approved me instantly for 7,500???  At that time, I was holding a walmart discover with 600 limit.  NOt to mention, discover won a judgement against me over 10 years ago and I never paid.  And on the rejection letters they sent me, they referenced a charge off as being a reason for rejection...I was never expecitng to get one...and then not only did they approve me, they gave me the highest credit limit of all my cards at the time......my boa and freedom both had 3500 limits which were my highest at the time...and discover did 7500?  Still confused over that one...but I love the card

Not true.  I'm at $24k.  Never a request for income verification.

Stingy, quirky lender.

Gave me 2500 for my first unsecured card a year ago, haven't budged since.

They don't have underwriting, they just flip a coin and decide whether to grant a CLI, and then flip again to decide SP or HP.

In any case, I think the Discover It is the perfect sock drawer card. Useful only 3-6 months every year.

It is true but don't confuse income verification with submitting documents. They use a database to electronically verify employment and income. They ask for documentation if they are unable to verify.

I have 8K with Discover, it is my oldest card, but I never use it. It is also my lowest limit!

Answering OP's quesiton: yes, and it's my highest limit!

Sadly, I use Discover the least, because of the lack of gamebreaking 5% categories.
