I received my replacement card today... I did not request it, but I guess Discover has finally implemented chip technology....
Discover has actually had EMV Chip Technology available for some time. My Discover it was converted and replaced when they first started issuing cards. What you are seeing now is the total replacement of Discover NON-EMV Chip Cards (they said they would auto do this in 2015). Must be starting.
But not yet available for the Miles card.
Huh, I got my card in the mail today, but Non chip.
I dunno about some of you but lately i have run into some instances (mostly mom n pop stores) where their readers won't take my chip cards as in also refuse to read the magneto-stripe either. I just had my 3rd occurance at a local discount store and i been telling these people they are going to be losing credit card purchase business if they don't do something by October. My guess is they'll wait until the very last moments to make the change at their POS terminals.

Mia, is that the Copper design?

Of all the cards you would think Discover would jump on EMV Chip Technology for the Miles Card since it's focus is on travel. Very interesting. Contacted Discover and asked when they would allow P/C Conversions from the "it" or "Chrome" and the manager told me they were looking toward the end of 2015. They wanted me to app but I said I really only needed one card type.

Very nice. Thanks. It is nice to see that Discover is starting to roll the chip version out (unrequested). I added the Spruce design to my lineup recently, but it is the non-chip version.
