Discover Q1 2018 restriction question.

Looking through the fine print on the Discover cash back calender I see that there is a caveat that mobile pay may not count towards the 5% category spend.  Anyone have any experience with this?  I would really like to use Samsung Pay to get additional rewards for using my Disco at the Gas Station, but at the expense of getting my 5%.

I use Samsung Pay religiously and have not had any issues with any issuer earning the rewards. It should not effect anything. Its just a different payment method. Swipe, Insert & Tap. All the same. I love getting credit card rewards and double dipping with the samsung rewards at 12.5 cents a tap its another great way to get some money back.
