How often does Discover do AR's, especially if you are a new customer? I've had the card for a month, still no statement has cut. I called in and they said it would be the 17th of each month. No clue why it didn't cut on the 17th of June. Anyway, CL is $1500, I've ran through about $1300 on the card and have PIF already. Is that going to put up a red flag or anything? I used their site to get 5% back on a iPad so there was $530 of the $1300 I've ran through. Just wandering.....
They AR my TU report once a month.
Not sure about the other ones.
Seriously? Isn't that a little overboard? Especially since I hear their CLI's are nothing great.
Yes, always right when my statement generates. A few days later I see a soft from them.
I just got my card in Dec. 2010, so maybe they just monitor new people, but I am not sure.
I called in for a CLI once my 6th statement generated, and I got the automated thing, and it was declined. Got transferred to a really nice guy who said it was because I had too many accounts with balances (I have 5 student loans, a mortgage and a car payment INCLUDING my credit cards) so I understood that one. He told me to get some of my smaller balances to $0 and try again in 4 months. He said it was a soft pull on TU. He said the average CLI he sees is around $1,500.
Does Discover balance chase or will they lower your CL if you made some new inquiries on your CBR since getting the account? I was shopping around for a car loan, so there are new inquiries on my report since opening this account. But, I have basically PIF this account prior to any statement. I do not care if I get a CLI, I just do not want a CLD.
Didn't do anything to me. I opened about 6 new accounts within 6 months of opening my Discover card.
Ok, that makes me feel better. I thought I had read a link on here where some guy had his CL CLD after his first or second statement. I believe he called and got it fixed but I thought that was crazy.
Their CSR's are pretty nice. Talking to them has always been a good experience to me. So no worries.

Paying your bill on time and not going over your CL will never raise a red flag.
I remember reading something about their CLI limit is typically 50% of your current CL for an increase.
e.g. 4K limit = CLI of 2K = 6K CL
