Looking through my junk mail and saw an offer for Discover It with a 10.99% APR, 15mo 0%
Lots of good features, no penalty APR, one free late, 0 foreign exchange, etc.
Since this is a 0 AF card it looks pretty attractive!
Anyone know what sorts of CLs they give initially.
I say go for it. I applied for IT last Friday and got my card Wednesday. My credit is less than perfect with a FICO from Experian of 638, and I was approved for $2400. It is my highest limit to date. Furthermore, since my credit was not great I didn't get an attractive bonus of 0% for any amount of time and my APR is 22.9% So if you can get it at those rates I say try it out, I'm still shocked I was approved and its my highest limit across all my cards.
I would go for it too... that is one hell of a offer....
I got my Discover in December at pretty much the same time as Amex. Discover gave me a CL of 2,5K and I used it heavily in the past and always PIF but no CLI so far. While Amex is now at 25K... so it is quite a lottery with them for starting limit ...but card is very nice and customer service great...if not for CLI...LOL
that gold spade in nice looking tho......they better provide you with a good initial CL keep us posted and GL!
i got several offers from discover.
i pulled the plug.
got a 2500 limit, with a 0% on bt for 18 months, 6 months 0% on purchases, but i asked for that offer
chatted with a rep for it.
my offer said 10.99 and i got 15.99 after promo.

Good question. I think we are still trying to figure out Discover's initial cl policy.
They do allow for cli's after 90 days which is nice and they will tell you if a hp is needed.
I started off at $2500, 3 mos later received an auto Cli to $3300 and last week received a Cli to $7300. Card was opened in Jan.
WOW, I've had mine for 5 years and I didn't know that you I could be increasing mine this quickly! I just got to 8k this year, but I've stayed at 2k for 4 out of the 5 years! LOL
Thanks Lexie for this input.. makes me realize that I need to be more organized and on the ball with asking for CLIs!
