After denying me in 2011 for 7 y/o BK when I responded to one.
That INQ is stii sitting on my EQ until October.
They had me fooled with their little inviation code.
Won't get fooled again.
Also, I think that even when the BK is off, they would come up with some other reason to reject me.
They're very picky.
Those offers, like all other random "invitations", are simple marketing. It has nothing to do with your credit or your actual chances of getting an approval from them.
I have permanently "opted-out" of any offers coming to my home. I don't want those offers sitting in my mailbox all day until I get home. I have learned how to investigate...do my homework, and then apply for a product I feel I have a great chance of being approved for. All those invitations do is give the uninformed a false sense of security. They pull the trigger for a product & oftentimes, get denied.
If anyone is interested in stopping these mailings from being sent to your home, here is the official Opt-Out link. The online version will stop these offers for 5 years. The mail in version will be processed & sent to all CRA's & stop them forever. Did this about 4 years ago & I get nothing in my mailbox.

It does take a few months to fully stop them all, but eventually, they all do stop. I highly recommend it. If you want to apply somewhere...come here & read up on who was approved & what CR was pulled. Ask the group here...we will help as much as we can!
