Would be interesting to know how they code Walmart Neighborhood Markets. These are very small grocery stores that have only groceries and are not superstores at all.
In many cases Amex does give rewards at Neighborhood Markets (and that is why in these sort of discussions you get some people saying "I DID get points at Wal-mart!")
But it's not always reliable so you are forced to try and see (two months later!)

However I'm in an area where there's Kroger, and I can consistently beat Wal-Mart prices on most things even before you consider the BCP 6% cash back. After you include fuel points that locks it in for me. I do shop the sales, though, and that might make a difference.
There were many months last year where Kroger was the only merchant on my monthly BCP statement. I've jokingly referred to it as my "Kroger credit card", with occasional use at Publix, of course.
Yeah, the Kroger around here is pretty competitive with Wal-Mart. Also, it's a just a whole lot more convenient for me to get to.. I do go to Sam's a lot, so a lot of the things I might try to save money on at Walmart, I get at Sam's anyway.
I would think that Walmart could really do well with a slightly better store card. It's kind of odd that Target has a 5'% card and Walmart is still at 1% for in-store purchases. Though Walmart certainly seems to know what they are doing.

Does the Huntington Voice MC credit the 3% cashback for groceries at Walmart?
Walmart is a cetegory of its own with this card. Grocery stores is another.

I use my BOA CashRewards as well as my PenFed Plat Rewards regularly at Walmart and both of them code as grocery.

Either the UMB Simply Rewards VISA credit card, or one of the 36 versions of that card that are offered by other banks and credit unions with credit processing handled by UMB.
3X on Gas Stations, Grocery Stores, Discount Stores, Restaurants & Fast Food. So whether your Walmart cash registers are coded as Grocery Store, or Discount Store, that card is likely to give you 3X in either case.

NIce. Thanks for this post. 3% cashback in all of those regular spending categories consolidated into 1 card. Hopefully this card lasts.

Yes, Visa and MC cards are much more likely to give rewards on things that look like grocery stores. The exceptions are for the 5% categories for Freedom, where they specify not target or Walmart. Amex is much more likely to use a different classification

Thanks forthis info. Having all of those 3% regular daily spend categories consolidated into 1 card is definitely a plus.
The Huntington Voice website indicates they honor the 3% cashback at WalMart.
