Does Paypal Key work when paying over the phone?

Does Paypal Key work if you have it linked to your chase/discover card and you give the person on the phone your PayPal key card number and information to pay for a product?  I just did it but I don't see where I have been charged on my chase freedom.  Has anyone else tried this before?

Answering my own question my payment just cleared and is showing on paypal.  It worked!  You can pay over the phone with PayPal key and get 5% back for the PayPal category.

These transactions take a bit longer to post, so out of abundance of caution, I'd make sure you're done at least 5-7 days prior to the end of December.

Not sure why the surprise.   Why is giving the number (and exp date etc) over the phone any different from entering it into a form (or writing it on an order and mailing it in for those that remember such things!).   The major thing it can't do is be used in person simply because there isn't a physical card you can present.

The question was already answered but I will add I too had good experience using it over the phone.  I paid a medical bill for my wife via this method, for the first time ever I maxed out a rotating category!  Really excited to see PayPal on the Disco catagories for next year and hoping PayPal Key sticks around. 

Not necessarily related, but I am thinking PayPal key will come in handy to get spend on less used cards, with recurring bills I can set up to use PayPal Key and then just change the card linked to key so cards in the sock drawer can get the occasional "swipe".  Just another method to do this without too much hassle.

@longtimelurker The surprise is I'm relatively new to PayPal key and all of these little loopholes that some of you guys may have already known I'm just now finding out.  This is practically the only category that I can max out without forcing spend through gift cards and "stocking up" on anything.
