Jared. My scores back then were around 570 and they showed me some love with a $1600 CL. That helped me buy my now wife her engagement ring. After I paid it off, they bumped me up to $2600.
^ He went to Jared's.
I was denied Walmart with CS 630 . I have 3 CC's for 2yrs, no lates, low util. Banana Republic/Gap/etc pulls all three CR. I was heated it showed up in the email they sent me. Target, Victoria secret were instant approvals but remember when applying a lot of creditors look at the number of inquires you have in a time period also.
Yes I think I'm just going to sit on these 3 cards for 6 months to a year before I app for anything new. I will try to increase there limits when I have extra cash.
Walmart and Target Redcard both approved me with scores in the 500s. They were instrumental in rebuilding my credit.
Does walmart report to all 3 bureaus? What bureau does walmart pull? How long of a credit history did you have? What baddies did you have at the time? Thanks.

What are some generally easy store cards to get approved for? I was looking into amazon(ge) and walmart (GE) since I use both stores.
with those limits you have focus on GE backed cards cards.... CLI's every 4 months if you use the card, card doesn't even need to be zero balance when you make the request via the automated phone system. In 8 months it will easily be your highest CL and may be even double.
You have three cards, you don't need another for building purposes at all.
Is there any reason you want a store card? It does next to nothing for you FICO wise, so unless there's some specific reward it offers (vis a vis Target discount or a financing option) there's not really any point in my opinion at least.
free TU FICO was one of the reasons.

Walmart reports to all 3 bureaus. They pull TU. At the time of application, I had AAoA of 5 years and over 20 baddies reporting. They started me off with a $300 CL and they gave me increases every 4 months when I requested it. They were a really important part of my rebuilding process and after two and a half years they upgraded me to a Walmart Discover after my situation improved.
