Hi,
I just received some balance transfer checks from Elan I am thinking about using them to pay off my Discover Miles card.
My disco is on 0% interest, but I'm in my first year so I'd like to pay off the first purchases and transfer so I can use the card for everyday use an get my 3% cash back match.
My question is can I write the check to myself and deposit it then pay Discover from my checking( I'm afraid Discover would be afraid to extend me any future credit if they knew I used a balance transfer check, am I over worried)
Also do you all have any experience with them? Any advice or words of caution?
This is my first time using balance transfer checks.
