Equifax not growing for some reason

Fico Equifax 659

Fico TU 694

Fico EX 760

Chase Sapphire Prefered $8000

Chase Freedom $2500

Discover $3000

CapitalOne QuicksilverOne $2000 (Oldest/first card 06/2012) Upgraded from CapitalOne Cash Rewards

I'm currently 20 and fairly new to credit. I've used under 30% on all my cards for the past few months. Equifax actually dropped 15 points because said my capitalone has balance increased, but although it did, the amount was still under 30% of 2k.  My ultimate goal is to qualify for PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa® Card. I currently do have a saving and a checking with penfed for about a year now. They declined all my application since they said I have very limited credit history, even the visa starter; the one that requires deposit to use. Anyway you guys can recommend me to raise my Equifax score? Seems like Penfed pull Equifax since all my rejected applications came back with Equifax being too low. Thank you very much!

Re: Equifax not growing for some reason

Equifax is always the CRA that grows the slowest for me. Do you have any baddies? If you do not have any baddies and your utilization is low, you may just need to let your accounts age. I see your first/oldest card is from 06/2012 which is not that old at all. Your best bet may be to let your AAoA grow. With every new account, your AAoA gets newer and newer. Im guessing if you garden for a year you should be good to go.

Re: Equifax not growing for some reason

Equifax is my lowest score too - it hardly ever budges. And there are only 2 inquiries on it from the past year, too! It's my cleanest report. I'm hoping I get a score boost in October when those inquiries hit a year old, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

RE:

EQ can be pretty frustrating. The nice thing is that if EQ raises a few points then I get excited to see my TU and EX because that means they changed a substantial amount, haha.

There is always a silver lining

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
