The offer just came out, so I am not sure anyone has the exact answer.

I emailed them and they told me the offer was valid even if I didn't get the email. However the next day or two I received the email offering the promotion.

I just remembered this and changed my billing card for January.

Between this, the $500 SUB and 2% CB, this is a fantastic card to have.
