First Premier CO Need Help!!!

I signed an app for First Premeir Card back in Sept 2005 to help an old friend going through Divoce at the time. In Feb/2008 it showed up on CR as DOFD 12/2005  CO $325.00.  I wrote a letter to PFD because I want this off from CR (only baddie on TU, EX. other than ID Theft issues I am currently dealing with) and First Premeir wrote back and said they will report as CO-Paid. I know this is probably just as bad as CO-Unpaid, so what should I do??

Anyone have suggestions or contacts at First Premier South Dakota ???

Re: First Premier CO Need Help!!!

Phew. Sorry it happened to you gator. It appears your friend used the card but never made any payments on it, leaving you to pick up the tab. I've heard so many horror stories about someone co-signing for joint credit, and the friend skips on them, leaving you to pick up the pieces.

I'm sorry but I don't have any advice except keep trying to PFD.  I don't have any contacts at F.P. either. Sorry Smiley Sad

Re: First Premier CO Need Help!!!

I would dispute this with the CRA's as inaccurate or incomplete information. If it comes back as verified, I would pay it (a paid CO is better than an unpaid CO).

After I paid it and received the CO-Paid letter from FP - I'd start GW'ing. And keep at it until it is removed.

Re: First Premier CO Need Help!!!

I too had a 1st Premier CO from way back when. The score difference between a paid CA and an unpaid CA is none. But there could be a difference between a paid CO and an unpaid CO. You might want to double check and run some numbers. Your MyFICO TU or EQ may list utilization. I use a spreadsheet to compare my numbers versus theirs.

DW has/had a CapOne CO and that most certainly factored into utilization. Once the balance read $0, her scores shot right up.

Re: First Premier CO Need Help!!!

Thanks for the Info llecs.

I will take your advice and go ahead and pay.  It's also a moral issue, I owe the debt, even though I never charged a penny on this card. I was hoping FP would help me on this, but from all the research on them, they aren't very accommodating.

Thanks Again Every One!
