the card act limits how much fees they can charge on the first year, so yea all the fees are added on the 2nd year, and remember to over pay your balance FP likes to charge extra fees on the next bill then charge off on you. it's been known to happen, send them $20 extra and wait for a check back is better than getting a surprise charge off.
I was hoping there was a link to an article where First Premier was going out of business..... hahaha, no dice.

if you think they're bad now you should've seen them before! money to pay online, access online billing, monthly bills, and a 79.9% APR yes that's 79.9% then the card act smacked their business model around a lot. Hopefully they'll max out APR to 29.9% in the future.
Wow! they really take avantage of those with challenged credit!! It's ridiculous
Congrats! It is apparent that your excitement to be rid of them has spilled out in your post! Haha!
Congrats! My first premier card anniversary is coming in 6 months, then I will close it the next day -- as I have been advised to do here at MyFico.
I actually have 2 FP cards, and agree that they are generally expensive to have, but I personally have not incurred these expenses overall. Because of two little tricks I ran across and simple negotiating, both effortless to me. 1st card have had 23 months, am already in second year and still don't pay any AFs and a significantly discounted MF. Interest is still a little high but I do not carry balances generally. 2nd card have had for 6 months, same deal as first although still in first year. But when I get close to one year with 2nd card I will call them and negotiate again. Same as I just did last week with no AF yet again for my upcoming 3rd year on my 1st FP card. But I have had a perfect history with both.
I too have been advised about closing FP, and have heard all the negatives, but the general rules of thumb for taking advice from people is... one: It is better when they are speaking from experience. two: It is better when they are NOT speaking from hatred or anger. three: It is better when they attach positives... Lol.
