Got the email from Ford today.
FNBO is no longer accepting applications for the FordPass Rewards card.
Any existing points or points earned by 27 May will be honored, but no further points can be gained after that date.
DW and I have really enjoyed the free accessories.
Hear you on that, and the loss of free services using the points for the vehicle. Got the same info.
Good ole Ford: "Fix Or Repair Daily" ...
Vehicle is one year old and two recalls. Like the transmission lets you go even in Park ... really ...
Yup... it's in hospice care and will die in May. Got the email saying earning points ends in May and to look for communication from FNBO.
I talked to them this AM and the card will be replaced with a other rewards card TBD. The portfolio isn't being sold.
Sad... is another lender taking it over or is it just going to close out?
Seems FNBO is going through some struggles. They chopped the BestWestern card as well and Mercury took it over last month.
I wonder how many of their other cobranded cards will bite the bullet or move to a different lender or product.
For those lucky souls that have a Ford Pass Visa Card, we know it is dead May 27, 2025.
Now according to FNBO, the Ford Pass Visa Cards will be transitioned to the new "GearUp" FNBO Card usable wherever Visa is accepted. A rewards program is offered and those in good standing with FNBO will be transitioned keeping the same account number, expiration date and security number. Also, the same account terms and conditions will be carried over to the new card. New card is estimated to arrive in July 2025.
Until the new card is received, the old Ford Pass Visa Card will be used but, all rewards earned will be earned and applied to the new FNBO GearUp Visa in accordance with the new card's rewards structure.
Note, the new card will not be associated with the Ford Motor Company. It will be a stand alone FNBO Visa Card.
The excitement of this new offering is just too much.
Will add, I used the Ford Pass Visa Rewards on many things for the vehicles and they worked well.
Hmmm.. 3 points for gas, grocery and anything automotive related (sales, repairs, car wash, service, etc.).
Might not be a bad catch-all automotive card for some people.
Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be an apply option.
Hopefully they will open it up to apps after all the fordpass transitions.
Here's a related news article describing the changeover: https://fordauthority.com/2025/04/fordpass-rewards-visa-card-applications-no-longer-accepted/
Here's a brief description of the replacement card: https://www.card.fnbo.com/gearup
No - card converts to a GearUp card - 3% back on all auto stuff (dealers, gas, charge, carwash, etc) and grocery. Just got the physical letter today, new rewards start May 28. Same card/expiration/cvv too.

Meh.
I used this card exclusively for Trupanion pet insurance (3% cash back as this codes as "insurance"), and used the points on wife's Ford for oil changes and maintenance at the dealership.
I'll have to test out whether this still works for insurance when the card changes. I spend a little over $3,200 a year on pet insurance (we've got two Malamutes), so that's a good spend to try and maximize cash back on.
