Does Chase use the same categories for the same quarters every year with the Freedom card or is it varied? I'm considering the Freedom for next year to go with my CSP. However, I already have Discover. I looked at the website and Chase is showing the rewards calendar for 2013 - nothing yet for 2014.

I recently was approved for chase freedom , and i asked them that same question. They said sometime in decemeber they will announce categories for next quarter fwiw

I'm not sure Discover has released their 2014 categories yet either - at least, I haven't ever seen discussion about that until you posted this. I would love a link to that info.
If you are referring to what is posted on their website for existing categories, then you are referencing the 2013 categories. Restaurants and movies was the first quarter category in 2013, and they just haven't taken down the 2013 calendar.
