My auto loan just hit 12 months and my first credit revolving will be 1 year next month. Most of jewelry store in Tyson mall uses GE Capitol. If they pull TU I really don't mind. My current FICO score is 637 which is kind of low. I'm currently in garden diet but I really don't want to use my other card because I don't have no zero interest offers.
Unfortunately, only GECRB will be able to determine if you qualify for approval. All the opinions on this board serve to provide some sort of baseline based on annecdotal information on the lender. It appears on the surface that your credit file may be fairly young but as others have mentioned, your experience on this may vary since GECRB can be odd sometimes. The question mainly boils down to a couple things: is the purchase a need or a want? and, since you mentioned you are in the garden, what would be the harm in waiting?
I think you should wait. I know GE can be BK friendly, but I think your score is too low for an approval. I could be wrong though, but personally I think you would be wasting a HP.
Thanks guys for your honest opinion. Last month I applied for the Amex Optima recovery card and I just noticed tonight Amex is reporting in my credit report the original date I've been member March 26th 2006. Would this help with GE showing more than 36 months of history. They pull TU or Experian which I don't have too many inquiry.
I'll keep you guys posted if I decide on pulling the trigger.
Hi Finstar
It's more of a "want" I'm watch guy plus I'd only be financing 50% I'm in the garden with my equifax report since it has taken a impact on most of my recent applications spree I did last months. I called GE and spoke with a rep they did confirm they only pull Transunion or Experian. Thank you guys for your opinion.
Do you guys think by having Amex reporting me since 2006 might help?

Oh YES

It just might. It might even result in an increase to your score. My son was denied Amazon, but after I added him as an AU on one of my cards with 15 months history, he was instantly approved for Amazon and Walmart.
Honestly, you are just not going to know until you app. If you decide to try, good luck.
