GE cli requirements?

Recently, I have joined the GE bandwagon. I know most will get a cli on the fourth statement by hitting the "luv" button.

Some will get increases by calling credit solutions. Now, my question is, what's a good rule to follow?

Do they give increases if you have a small balance or PIF w/ all of your GE cards?  Overall utilization must be less than15%?

Must make constant purchases with the card, or buy a few things here and there?

There's a lot of threads about GE's cli's, but not enough of information on how it was obtained like the questions above! Smiley Happy

Re: GE cli requirements?

Not sure if there is rhyme or reason on how you use the card as long as you use it.  I got my card last Oct and have left a balance, PIF, and the button never worked for me until just this week.   I had gone 3 mos with no purchase, then 2 weeks ago I spent about $40, then PIF within days, then this week hit the button and finally got it for the first time.

FICO: EQ 814 | TU 847 | EX ? (Started in the low 500's... you can do it!)

Amex BCE $25000, Amex AP $20000, SFFCU Visa $15000 + LOC $5000, USAA Amex $6000, USAA MC $7000, Cap1 $9500, Freedom $12000, Slate $500, Barclays "RIP" SM $11500, USBank Cash+ $12500, Citi Diamond $11200, Citi Double Cash $12000, Care Credit $13500k.

Re: GE cli requirements?

for best results 4 STATEMENTS reporting a balance and a payment.... doesn't matter how large of balance but probably not completely maxed out although I got $500 CLI on Lowes from $500 with a $498 balance! but many have reported goiing $500 to like $3000 or more with Lowes so I think my high blaances hurt me.

but if button doesn't work, call credit solutions. if credit solutions doesn't work or most have said even if it does... hit the button too! just constantly every 4 months or every month if you got denied the month before!

Re: GE cli requirements?

I agree with the others. PIF, showing a balance, luv button or credit solutions- doesnt seem to matter for me. I just wait and by the 4th statement I'm on that number like clockwork! I would not consider my usage as heavy on any of my GE cards.

Re: GE cli requirements?

I have 4 GE backed credit cards

1st Paypal Smart Connect 300 > 1000 > 2000 all using the Backdoor Credit solution #. Heaviest usage over 110% usage, PIF right before calling for CLI. carried a balance                   once.

1000 CLI was right before my 4th statement say cut. opened in December '2012

2nd Walmart 300> 500 >1000 > 1500 heavy usage first all the way to 90%, carried a balance the first months, PIF b4 4th statement called the backdoor # CLI to 500. PIF next statement called again 1000, week later called again 1500, opened Oct' 12.

3rd Amazon 700> 1500 Little usage never over 25% usage. Havent been able to get another CLI. carriying a balance right now.

4th JC Penny 300> 500  Charged 50 bucks on in once, and never used it again. PIF. called many times to get CLI nothing.

It looks like heaby usage and showing them you can pay it, is the best way to get CLI before 4th statements... moderate usage will get you the 4th statement CLI.

Amex PRG NPSL, Amex Delta 2k (AU) Discover iT 5k, BOFA Siggy $5k, BOFA AlaskaAir Siggy 5k, BBVA Compass $5k! Macy's $4.5k, C1 $2.5, SFCU $2.5k, SFCU LOC $2k, Paypal SmartC $4k, Sam's 5.5k Victoria Secret $2k, Kay's $1.7k.,76/Citi $1.5k Amazon $5k, Walmart Disco $3k JC Penny $4k, C1 $2.5, BBRZ 700.
