My TU according to a purchase of score from MyFico was 595 on Jan 20. Wal Mart Score shows at 628
. I know not great but way higher than I was expecting. And it was free!
Any other GE cards I would have a better than average chance of getting if I applied?

I was able to get Amazon store with a similar score and JCP with a score that was probably even lower.
And, of course, as has been said, make sure that you get credit that has a purpose for you. Since JCP is accepted at both CVS and Rite Aid, that's mainly how I use that CC. I also enjoy making occasional orders on Amazon, so that one can definitely be used.
