Morning folksSmiley Happy

Received an offer in mail yesterday from Amex to apply for a savings account. Interesting . I didnt know they offered that. Not sure its good offer or not. 1.35%apy?

Have a great day ill see YALL later during the day haha

1.35 is good.  Definitely in the top tier if thats on even low balances under 10k and the fee structure is good.

Thanks CGSmiley Happy  i wonder if it would be a hp . My luck my savings would be measured in the dollars, not k's Smiley Sad But $1 saved is more than if i hadnt saved at all right? Smiley Wink

I can't recall the last time I've drank this much coffee to function for the day. We're about to leave and I'm asking my boss if we can drive by Starbucks to get more. Pretty sure I might still have a coffee cup in my hand by the time the council meeting starts.

Good Morning MFer's, well got an email from Citi, my Advantage Platinum AF is due, went on the "other site" to see retention offers, and since October of last year not much, a few mentioned they were able to PC to DC, I have one and don't need another one. So called this morning and no offers, no "let me get you to a specialist" bupkus...LOL I really WANTED to close it anyway, I always keep it because for five years they have always offered to wave the AF...not this year, guessing CostCo is doing well for them?  LOL I am glad to have another card gone....I have the AA executive and the Silver Aviator and the Aviator is kind of a mirror of the Platinum anyway.....Well have a great week and DON'T APP or your cat will shred your favorite pair of Jeans!!

I don't have a cat! *giggles madly and runs to straddle the garden fence*

Lol, I don't have a cat...but, pretty sure something bad will happen if I APP!

Have a great day!

EXACTLY!!!!  nothing GOOD can come of apping whilst in the garden!!  Love Jersey girls, I am married to one!!! She freaked when we moved out and had to pump her own gas!!

Just checking in. Been a long time I feel like. Anyway things are good just plugging along. Nothing big to report other than being engaged back in September. No big purchases yet. I haven't done much in way of using cards just keeping them in check. My total util jumped up to 9% last couple months but about ready to kick that back down. Score wise I'm still around that 800 mark fluctations here and there have me bouncing between 785 and 805 so I'll take it. I'll have to check back more often. I'm going to go browse the forums and see whats going on.

Congrats on being engagedSmiley Happy Great score tooSmiley Happy

Let's see:

- I started my taxes and noticed one of the W-2s was very, very wrong. I'm currently searching for old pay stubs (I rarely printed them out) to corraboratee their screw-up. Work is searching on their end for contact information (we no longer use that system and can't access it anymore.) I'm pissed.

- Thr kid's sick tody, and is chilling at grandma's house. Her temperature is high enough it'll warrant a trip to the pediatrician's office if it doesn't stay down. It keeps yo-yoing up & down.

- I was feeling the vibe and asked for an increase to $500 on the Amazon store card. And got it. I'm not touching anything else though.

It's been a meh kinda week.

Hope the kiddie gets betterSmiley Happy Weve missed ya AddieSmiley Happy

Good morning!
My big boss informed me via email that i'll be spending three days next week at Hanford. I'm starting to think he hates me.
On a positive side, I may glow in the dark and get a second job as a party prop.
I'm hoping not to cause all the beautiful garden plants to mutate into Venus fly traps.

Due to Hurricane Maria, i have officially licked down the patent for glow in the dark pee marking tape, if you need any,  ill be glad to offer you some for just a one time fee of Cherry Coke Smiley Happy

Another "just checking in" reply. Don't come around here much anymore as I guess the whole credit thing just got kind of old even though I still watch and manage my credit like a hawk. I can remember when I first stated coming to this forum 3 years ago and learning about credit and how I wanted all these cards and loved hearing all the war stories along with the successes. Well my credit has since recovered and I don't really want anymore cards so I guess the shine wore off. Well I do still want another card or two but I'm in no hurry and would rather wait until I'm pretty much inquiry free ( year from now). Hate to mess up all my hard work.

As others may have noted one way to take your mind off apping and credit cards is to become somewhat scarce around here to avoid all the temptation and credit card talk. There is alot of truth to that unfortunately you lose touch with the members. So here's to keeping in touch!!!

Glad to hear things are going well for you. Though the forum can be tempting for many i find once you reach the point your credit is stable, it becomes actually easier and i encourage those that no longer have the "thrill" to hop around the forum and just give support to those who need it.  Being a member in the garden club even if we must leave for a thing or two is an absolutely amazing place to unwind and just talk about various thing without all the drama found elswhere. We are glad to see you around and even if its a hello, always great to readSmiley Happy

Re: Garden Club - February 2018

Richard Head III is one of the greatest names I've ever heard. My parents named me so my initials spell PMS.

I had no idea this meant anything until I was in maybe 3rd or 4th grade and was playing video games at my friend's house. His older brother and friends were there and as I put my initials in for a high score his brother says "really? Your initials are PMS? My mom takes pills for that!".

Went home seeking explanation. Needless to say that was my nickname for at least the next few years. Thanks mom & dad.

@Anonymous I love my Amex high yield savings. Was 1.2 something % when I opened it, currently 1.35%. The principle balance (and thus interest earned) fluctuates as I use the Amex HYSA as a slush fund holding our liquid savings between opening & maturity of navy CDs, but it's usually earning a good $50-80/mo. For having no fee's or minimum balance requirements, you really can't beat it. It's especially handy since I've got Amex credit products already.

Sure you can usually find a slightly higher promo rate from a variety of CUs, but with the Amex there are no membership requirement hoops to jump through.

Thanks Slightly RemovedSmiley Happy Eventually id like to have a true savings , even if to help establish  an emergency fund. My income doesnt allow for much, but something is better than nothingSmiley Wink
