Late .... but here!

After a HUGE spree with a 5/5 approval rate and Chase CLI (AMEX BCE - $10k, AMEX HHonors - $3.9k, Citi Simplicity - $11.7k, Chase Sapphire Preferred - $15k, Chase Freedom CLI - $1k to $5.5k, Barclay Ring - $5k)....

I'm joining the garden club.  Still waiting on updated scores, but I'm sure they'll reflect the need for this too.

I'm still new to this so I hope to gain a lot (score wise) and learn even more!

Re: Garden Club Meeting - February 2013

So now that my mortgage is final or so I assume, it still hasn't showed up on online banking yet. I've done gone and over app'd myself. Two new cards when I really only maybe "needed" one, really more like wanted. So I've now got I think 7 inquires on my reports from the last year :/. This time I really do need to stay faithful to growing my seedlings. I wanted to establish a relationship with PenFed for possible home refi or auto loan in the future and since they were gonna HP me anyway I went for a card too. Alas now I need to cut the cable to the internet and sit on my hands for a while.

FICO: 782(Ex, AMEX 8/12), Mortgage Pull(3.0%, 5/1 ARM from Local CU 2/2013): 725(EX), 757(TU), 772(EQ); 775(EX, Amex 8/14)
Cards: Amex BCE(10300), Discover(7000), Target (1000), PenFed Platinum Rewards Visa (8500), Chase Freedom(5000), Barclay Arrival+ (10000), Amex HHonors Surpass(11,800)
App'd: Barclay & Hhonors Surpass Aug 2014, PenFed & Freedom Feb 2013, Amex & Target Jul 2012, Discover Feb 2008 Gardening til ???
Goals: TBD, possibly a mortgage refi to a fixed rate or better adjustable

Re: Garden Club Meeting - February 2013

I have resisted every urge to apply and have achieved my goals. As of this week I am totally 100% debt free. Smiley Happy Now of course the urge to apply is even greater. Maybe it is the curiosity I have to see what kind of CL I would get. Must not App!!!!

P.S. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how long I should wait before I run my CR again? I have one free Score Report remaining and I don't want to waste it.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - February 2013

I've been meaning to add to this thread every time I see it floating around. I've been in the garden since last July/Aug 2012. I'll be here until I pay off all my current debt (now down to approximately 4k owing, since I've paid two cards off). I plan on having everything paid off by September, but definitely by the end of the year.

I'm going to pull my credit reports in April (as I'll be paying some more things off in March/April); then I'll get my report again in July, as I'll be paying more off then too, by that point I should be 2/3rd's of the way to where I want to be. Then, I'll get my report again either in December or Jan 2014. Depending on how things look then, I'll decide if I'll app for a Discover or not, as I understand they are YMMV regarding those who filed for BK. By Feb, it will be 3 years that my BK will have been discharged (filed Oct 2010 but discharged Feb 2011). If I waited until July/Aug of 2014, then all of  my inq's should be gone by then from all my reports. I have some falling off this year, for stuff I apped for in 2011, but I also apped for a couple in 2012 too but most apps were done in 2011.

Good luck to the rest of those in the garden!

Re: Garden Club Meeting - February 2013

I've been lurking for a couple of months.. I finally decided to hop on this forum. Anyways I'm not quite sure if I'm even doing this properly, but here goes nothing.

Been gardening for a little over 3 months. (Last app: 11/20/2012, Chase Freedom Visa). I do plan on gardening until the end of the year due to my circumstances. So hopefully by the end of the year I would most likely app for Discover.

I'm not quite sure what else to post, but kinda glad I decided to join !
