Re: Garden Club Meeting - January 2013

Five more days to my silver spade!

My scores are down a little from their peak because of seasonal utilization, but my TU score stayed above 700 on the same reporting except only three inquiries.  Two of those will fall off by next month!  So by working on utilization and gardening the inqs off my EQ I expect to hit the "700 Club" before I leave the "Gardening Club"

Re: Garden Club Meeting - January 2013

Hey all,

My Chase Freedom app got denied. Not a happy camper about it, but the reasons they provided left a recon unlikely to happen anyway. Still waiting on my Cap1 Cash Rewards app to come to a resolution. I did a PC from the Discover More Student to the it, and since its not a Student card, hopefully there will be better opportunities for CLI's and APR reductions.

Citi Forward for Students: $1000

Discover More Student (becomes "it" effective 1/13): $1000

AMEX Blue: $2000 -> $1000 (Overspent early in the year and took far too long to pay off other cards, so my score suffered and AMEX decided to reduce their risk.)

Cap1 Journey Rewards: $500 -> $750 (Credit Steps CLI in May)

Util: 17%

Gardening until: September at the earliest; probably will be apping for a car loan around then. Otherwise, not until I can graduate and earn an actual income.

Cards: CitiForward for Students (2K, opened 8/2009), Discover it (2K, opened 7/2010), AMEX BCE (1k, opened 12/2010), Capital One Quicksilver (4.5k, opened 11/2011), Chase Freedom (1.5k, opened 8/2014)

AMEX Platinum (NPSL, AC arrangement, added 12/2011), Citi AAdvantage AMEX (9k, AU, backdated to 9/2008)

Scores: TU 667, EQ 651

In the Garden since 8/8.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - January 2013

Heh, rang in the New Year with a whimper, but still enjoying the mini-quiches to soak up the residual alcohol from earlier in that day Cat Tongue

Did my annual score pull, cracked 650 on both EQ and TU which was a pleasant surprise but score is probably flatlined for a while.  In happier news dropped down to 1 inquiry on TU though neither EX nor EQ will look anywhere close to that pretty on that count.  9/18/12 was last application inquiry date for the Zync.

Current tradelines:

BOFA:         10/11 $2500

Cap One:    12/11 $400  (nee Orchard)

DCU (sec):  1/12 $2000

Amex Zync:  9/12 NPSL

For completeness

USAA sec loan: 1/12

DCU auto loan:  8/12

Goals for 2013:

Pulling the continent-sized weed out of my garden (Fed tax lien)

Obtain a mortgage

Everything else is so superfluous they're irrelevant, any other plans are on hold until I either become a homeowner or give up on that.

Happy New Year everyone, and good luck with your plans as well!

Les, I'm not an expert but I think you may have run out of signature room.   Perhaps try an align=right instead of left?   Might give the seedling more room to grow Cat Tongue.

Also I think you mean "planted" or similar rather than "supplanted" Smiley Happy

Hah, speaking of FAKO's a slew of inquiries dropped off my TU report (well aged beyond a year at least) and my CK jumped by 24 points to by far it's highest ever.

Grats on the PRG, nice card for you; are you keeping the Zync as a reward accelerator as well?

Re: Garden Club Meeting - January 2013

I'll take some baked brie and sparkling grape juice, thank you!!

I'm just a seedling now -- no HP for a month. But I am hoping to reach gold spade status and then re-evaltuate my presence in the garden. I just had 9 baddied removed and I'm waiting on another 2 to remove as well.  Then I am trying to get the last three to GW away.

I have an NFCU nRewards $6K (12/2011 opened), WFNNB/Ny&Co Store card $800 (5/2012 opened), Victoria Secret $500 (12/2012 opened via SP).

I think the only thing that will save me and ensure that I remain in the garden is that I'm app'ing on behalf of DH  -- goin on an app spree for him in May Smiley Happy

I app'ed for a car refi thru a local CU and was denied in November with a 608 EXP score- but I'm paying 19%!! So hopefully with an improved score and a cleaned report, I might be able to app at NFCU for a car re-fi in the summer, we'll see. But until then, I'll happily be gardening away !
