That was a tough month.
Congrats!
I'm on my fourth try and still haven't gotten it yet....
Oh my goodness, I really need to garden!
I started trying to fix my credit last October, got my student loans into rehab, and successfully sent validation letters to the bureaus on a couple of old baddies that were lingering. I got a Capital One secured card to begin my path to creditworthiness.
10 months later, my student loans finished rehab and all the negative TL's were deleted. TU even accidentally deleted the one baddie that I have left on my CR's
With those deletions (the new tradelines still aren't reporting) my Exp went from 573 to 767!!! Wow.
Naturally, I got excited, and went on a little Ap spree... AmEx Blue Cash Everyday - $12,500! ok, that blew my mind!!!
with that under my belt, I went for a Chase Freedom - $1000 :/ disappointing, but apparently my EQ is still down at 668 because it doesn't show that I've been an AU on a Chase card for 15 years.
Just for giggles I did the shopping cart trick with JCrew, and got a quick $1000 limit.
Then, wonder of wonders, I learned about AmEx backdating from the wise people of MyFico My BCE now shows member since '95 thanks to a cc i got in college, just cause I wanted the free t-shirt they were handing out...
Excited once more, I apped for an AmEx Blue Sky - just to game my AAoA a little bit, and voila! instant approval Blue Sky - $15,000 !! (really amex? even more that the first? OK, thanks!)
So, in the last month I've added Target ($200, lol), 2 Amex's, Chase Freedom, and JCrew. I killed the CapitalOne Secured, as they wouldn't ever graduate it.
Now I've got 7 Inq's on TU & EX, and 4 on EQ
My goal all along has been to improve my credit and get a house, so I really need to reign myself in and go inquiry-free for at least 6 months... but it's hard, oh so dang hard! The SouthWest airlines cards are screaming my name! I must be strong.
Goal: 6 months in the garden, and a mortgage.
Finally got my EX FICO from here.................704!!!!
Does anyone know which version this is?
