Thanks Lexie!
@Swapmeet wrote:Well folks, two things. First, I lost 5 points by letting a balance report on my 0% interest freedom -- bringing my utility to 9% and keeping me in the 700 club at 703. Secondly, two words: silver spade. Look at it, all shiny and awesome. As promised, I will not be holding onto this beautiful silver spade for very long because of the fact that my USAA platinum card will be eligible for a cli in two weeks. I am going to ask them to do it via soft pull, but they are going to deny that request and do a hp. They pull eq, which is 703 and util at 9%, so it is pretty likely that they will approve my cli. When they ask how much I want I plan on saying "As much as you will authorize. In a perfect world, I would have a limit of 12,500 and have my card upgraded to a world mastercard." I expect them to let me know that it is far from a perfect world and counter offer. I figure that they will probably counter with about 8k. We will see shortly...lol.
Congrats on the silver and good luck on the CLI
Thank you sir.

Have you made sure that it's the very first line of code in your siggy?
It is the first line in the siggy and just doesn’t want to bloom.
So I wasted the hard pull on the 9th, since I got the rejection letter from NFCU. Mailbox also held offers for the Cap One rebuilder and a Wal-Mart card. They all went in the shredder pile. C1 rejected me six months ago, and WM, IIRC, is GE Money and I refuse to deal with them at all.

I may be stepping out of the garden tomorrow.
It's that time to trade in the gas guzzler for something more economical.
I'm still about 3K to the good on my Explorer, but it's financed under my girlfriends name because I still had credit issues a few years ago when I got it.
I've been just looking around, and found a nice Fusion which will be much better on gas, and should even lower my payment a bit, and even insurance.
Plus... Having my own car loan will help my FICO in the long run.
My SO loves his Fusion - we went with the Hybrid - works well as he drives a lot for work and is now only filling up about every 11 days instead of every 3...

Why do you hate GE?
My loathing of GE:
Dillards card: 500 limit, had 237 on it as its highest number. Owned by the Dillard name. GE bought it, and immediately lowered my CL to 204, which was what I happened to owe. No reason, just because they can. I paid it off, they closed the account without a word.
Gap: Initial CL 500, used 167. GE then drops inexplicably to 140. When I asked why, they cited market. Paid it off, they closed it.
Paypal Buyer Credit: Initial CL 500. I got it to make a 450 dollar purchase. I paid it off, and they dropped me to 100. Reason: it is 2008 and the market is bad.
Bassett: A furniture store card not even usable in all Bassett stores. It was branded to a store where I no longer lived. 4500 CL. Bought 1500, paid it off. Added another 650, paid it off. Kept it for the ute factor and the age. Card closed for no reason. I guess because they can.
GE line of credit: CL 15K, got as high as 13K…not only did they not let me access it after a while in spite of paying off huge chunks (2008 and beyond) but they then started balance chasing which left me perpetually maxed out. Ultimately closed by consumer…this time I beat them to the punch.
You get the gist…every time I had a card, they balance chased, closed for no reason, or gave toy balances. They are great for refrigerators and jet engines, not so much for finances.
Comenity, on the other hand, will always have my business. Pay down, get a CLI. Buy stuff, pay it off, get another CLI.
@silverzgirl: If I were you I'd hate them too.
Hello Garden Club
I'm just hanging out watering my seedlings and pulling weeds.
Think I'll kick back in my lounge chair have a cocktail and watch the lovely sunset on a beautiful day in the garden.
Cheers all

Enjoy the cocktail! I've been refraining from having wine until I finished drinking my cough syrup, but thinking I might have a glass tonight!
