By end of this year, 5 inqs will fall off my EX; can't wait !!
Although, I wanted to add a CITI card and the PSECU VISA/PSL combo and the US Bank Cash card, I really don't need the additional HP and credit limit. So I have decided to keep off the app bandwagon for now. Hopefully I last at least 12 months app free.
But never say never right??

That's so awesome!
By the end of this year for me, 4 more will fall off of EX, 2 off of EQ, and 2 off of TU... These are from the mortgage process which started sept 2011. I closed January 2012... In february I went on a credit card app spree since my reports were better than they'd ever been
APP ITCH APPPP ITTTCH!
Fortunately the app angel on my shoulder is a little louder than the devil.
@webhopper wrote:I closed on my refinance!!! Signed the docs on Friday, the payoff funded yesterday! Whooo hoo! Best of all, they didn't re-pull my credit, so I got the refi using only 1 HP on each report! YAY! It's nice because I'll have a mortgage account opened April 2008, Closed October 2012, never late, paid as agreed...
Now that's what I call gardening
Woo, hoo... CONGRATS!!! And that's wonderful that they didn't have to re-pull!!!
@codimom wrote:As you may have read in my other thread, I HAD planned on app'ing for a Discover card in January... and closing a few cards.
Then last night I got another pre approved Discover app. I felt that Discover was the one card that would round out my portfolio and well.. i caved and apped for discover. THE DAY BEFORE I WAS GONNA GET MY SILVER SPADE... so I'll be putting the seedling back on.. and I'll be in the garden for the foreseeable future. I have a car loan, I have a good block of cards.. and my util is still hovering at... zero.
so pass me the gloves... I'm tending the babies over here....
(oh and yea it was instantly approved for 7500... so yes i'll be weeding a couple of cards out now)
Sounds like you're in great shape to settle in for a good, long stay.

HANG IN THERE!!!
Hello! This is the beginning of my gardening since I did my last app for Chase Freedom today. I am 1 year post bk with 3 credit cards and a small car loan. My goal is to qualify for a mortgage next year for myself and my daughters! Right now my cards are at 40% Utilization, and the plan is to pay them all down to less than 10% by January so that my score can grow. Thanks for all of the help and support found here...

Oi vey, thanks for posting that CS. Something I can look forward to in January when the bulk of my inquiries from building my credit file drop off, and most of those tradelines hit a year. With progress being flatlined for FICO at the moment, I'm looking for anything I can get in terms of baby steps to keep me on track .
Greetings all!
I am officially in the garden. (Actually I've been gardening since last December when I apped for my Freedom card - but I didn't really participate in the forums as much but now Im going to share what I have learned with others just discovering the forums)
A little about me -
Like many of you I found this forum because my credit was in disarray. With the advice I found here, I was able to clean up my reports, get my finances in order, and build a strong history. I have gone from low 600's to over 800 in 2 1/2 years and now have all the prime cards I need. I couldn't have done it with myFico forums I would never have known about Amex backdating, GW requests from creditors, or difference between FAKO and FICO. And I'd probably still be paying out the backside in AF for subprime cards. Thanks to all who have contributed.
Now I'm officially in garden mode after receiving a cli from Pen Fed and taking a HP to do so! Nothing more until mid-2013!
Gardening on!
I overpaid my Credit One card by $18, hopefully that's enough to cover the interest and report a zero! With the immediate interest application that they do, I feel like I'm in a guessing game as to how much the finance fee will be. Fortunately, I can now SD this card. Gonna keep it open though until it's a year old and they want to start charging my annual fee in a monthly fashion.
