Getting settled in to the Garden.   Have a few weeds to pull (baddies needing follow-up GW letters) but should be set to watch scores grow.   I had stellar credit when I was in the service and wracked up about 12k in debt when i got out and went to school.   Last year at this time I was sitting at 51% utilization and scores probably around 640.   Now I'm at around 5%.  Vantage score has gone from 726 to 813 since May.

Re: Garden Club Meeting - September 2013

Just got a preapproval offer from the NRA.

The NRA Visa looks super patriotic, Offered 18 months no interest on balance transfers and 12% APR when it's over.....

was tempted for about a second or two, Ripped it right up.

Not letting temptation ruin my credit! >=)

Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Well was able to check my TU (with Wally Discover) and it looks like I lost 9 points from my recent 2 new apps, but that's ok. I'll take it.

It says the 2 things on my credit affecting my scores are now:

1) The remaining balance on your installment loans is too high.   (student loan)

2) You recently opened a new credit account.

Hey, shouldn't it read more like "Due to your recent new credit cards, you went from a $2100 total limit to $16,600 limit, therefore we are patting you on the back and making your scores even higher for your added success" ???  Yea right. I wish. Smiley Very Happy

9 pts isn't to bad on 2 accounts continue gardening and you will earn those back in no time

I made it! I am not even home yet. I wanted to check in for tonight's social.

You have work hard all year on your credit goals what accomplishments have achieved thus far?

I'm am proud of many things (all owed to this forum) including recognizing when to stop applying for credit. I've refinanced my car from 8% to 1.99%; added $65,000 in credit and my credit scores are all in the low to mid 700's.
I'm proud to be able to help others reach their goals. Whether it be family, friends or myFICO family.

Thanks myjourney for a wonderful spread. Too beat to eat but it looks great!

You had a great year indeed have fun and see you soon
