2013: There really are only two cards I really want, and I will apply in June after 6 months of being in the garden. The BCE and Freedom, and I might go for the Gold Delta if I am not approved for the BCE, or maybe the SPG. Just depends. I think I will qualify for the Freedom the next time I apply though. And then I'm going into the garden for at least another 6 months to a year. I might want to increase my limits a little bit as well and hopefully with an SP (BOFA to 1,000 and Citi and Discover 500 each to 2k respectfully.)
How many months of history did you have when you apped for Citi Forward and Discover? I read Citi Forward needs at least 1 year of history, that's why I'm not gonna even bother trying to touch that yet.

Evil, I opened my first card on April 25th, and I applied for my Citi and Discover cards on October 27th, I got instantly approved for the Forward after they verified a few things with me (address, Social, DOB) and approved me for 1.5k. They pulled EX which had my score at 738 at the time. For Discover they actually pulled my TU report on the 29th (I applied on a saturday night though.) Again was approved for 1.5k and with a TU score of 742 (according to what was sent with cardmember agreement). And no, you don't need at least a year, just 6 months of history, but clean with absolutely little to no baddies and small Utilization (mine was about 3%, after the statement cut on the 26th, that is usually when my BOFA statement cuts, though it varies monthly, especially during the holidays.) I'm currently at 8 months of history, but in June I plan to go for the BCE and the Freedom (I applied for it November at the same time with my PRG, but I got denied because my accounts were not aged long enough) If I don't get approved for the BCE, then I plan to go for the Delta in the mean time and then PC it. I should be able to get the Freedom this time around though.

So tempting cuz my reports are all clean......LOL Thanks man
I am going on a mini app spree on June 2013 or September 2013. The cards I have in mine are: 1) Amex BCP, 2) Bankamericard Rewards for Students, and 3) Chase Freedom or CS.
Started 2012 with a lousy BofA card with high limit but zero perks and a couple of Chase low limits cards. Made a few moves to get Amex Delta Platinum, Amex Business Gold rewards, Chase Ink Cash, Amex Gold, Delta Reserve Business, Chase Ink Bold and finally Chase Sapphire Preferred. I'm pretty set once I can get a CLI on some of the cards.
I did get an offer to upgrade my Business Gold to Business Platinum yesterday. Tempted as it's a SP but the fee increases quite a bit. But...
2013 card wanted is the AMEX Business Centurion. Yes, it's a want not a need. I don't want or need the annual fees associated with it. I'll hit the annual spend to qualify for invitation but apparently I have to hold the Platinum for a year.
Can I write off the fees as a business expense?
I think you should go for it as long as everything is clean on your reports. Unless you have burned Citi in the past, then maybe you should reconsider. But since you said you have clean reports, go for it! it's a decent card IMHO (although the point valuations are not the best I admit). I still cannot tell if I got the student version or regular version of either card. Because when I called in for Citi, they never asked me to mail them anything student related (student ID, enrollment, etc.) I make 12k currently (2 part time jobs, waiting tables and doing Data entry.) but idk how much Impact it was when I applied. Good luck!
I really want Chase Sapphire. Does anyone think I will have a good chance by next September 2013 with the following on my CR:
1) Three cards (see my sig)
2) Oldest account will be 1 year and 9 months
3) Average age of open accounts: Around 1 year.
4) Ulti will be lower than 10%.
Relationship with Chase: 5 years with a good standing checking account.
im aiming for another amex and trying to get my foot bavk in with chase....but i ptomised i eouldnt app til 2014...yea right...lol
