Got approved for AMEX SPG / How to find out for how much?

Hi guys,

Im kinda new to building the credit, so I apologize if the question is already answered.

I had 1 Amex CC and just applied for SPG and was approvided right away, but the page didnt say for how much or what is the limit.

It just said, Congratulation you been approved. There was an option to request card via mail so I pressed it. 

Then I got an email confirming my approval, but again it does not specify the limit.

How to find out for how much I was approved before the actual card arrives?

I would suggest calling, but it's strange when I got approved for my prg I was able to set up my online account right away may be different for regular cards.  Dv

In your email congratulating you on being approved, click the blue “set up an online account now” link. Or call.

Also, congrats! It’s my favorite card. And dv, it’s the same for all cards although with both my Delta and wife’s Delta, we had to set up new accounts since there was an error adding to our existing accounts. Once we had the cards in hand, we removed them from the new accounts and added them to our existing accounts.

Would you mind sharing any data points such as score or length of credit history?

I'm interested in applying for the card when my AAoA ages a bit more, and I want to know if I have any chance of getting approved.

If those cards and scores in your signature are up-to-date then I don't think you have anything to be worried about getting approved once your AAoA improves like you mentioned. This is assuming you haven't burned AMEX in the past.

How long before I should apply for another Amex card? I was initially pre-approved for the PRG. I applied for the both the Platinum and the PRG same day and I was instantly approved for the Platinum, but declined for the PRG. Reason was like "Time as Amex customer too short" (something like that). Do you know if the NPSL is across all charge cards or per charge card? Thanks in advance!

NPSL (charge cards) are limited to the personal green, gold, platinum and centurion cards. The good news for you is now that you're in with AMEX with the platinum card approval future apps should normally (YMMV at times) be a SP whether it's an approval or denial. As for waiting for your next app at least til next year for sure. Keep an eye on your AMEX offers they show a good indication on when they will extend you more credit since those are pretty solid offers.

The Credit history is less than 1 year.

Score 708 around all bureaus. Util 19%. Initially I aplied for BCE. Waited about 6 month and apllied for SPG with limit 5K.

This happened to me when I got approved for the Hilton card.  Told me congrats but didn't tell me the limit or APR.  A quick phone call got me the info before it came in the mail.
