Yes same card number. The expiration date and security code changed. Did you get a new card number?

It's used as a credential validation using the Cap One app.

You tap the card with the key symbol to your mobile phone.  Poof.  Validated.

Don't ask me how this witch craft stuff works.

So your old Venture card not the new X had this key on the backside?

Actually the opposite. My old card did not and new one does. My old one is the original from 2017. The old one wasn't even contactless. 2017 Venture card.

So are they telling you that you don't need a new card? Because the card you have already has all the technology?
