I just logged in my Penfed account and saw an ad for a new Penfed credit card.

If you already qualify for the 2 percent that's great but I wouldn't open a checking account just to qualify when other cards give 2 percent without the requirement. That said, a lot of people do like Penfed and this is a solid card.

You can apply for the card and checking account at the same time with only one hard pull.

Don't forget the monthly fees they charge if you don't meet their minimum requirements
