If looking at this by the numbers alone, BCP.
With Kroger grocery spend averaging $700 monthly thus $8.4k annually, and seeing that you have a Chase Freedom and Discover, your yearly grocery spend would get:
- AmEx BCP + Freedom/Discover - BCP @ 6% for $6k, split final $2.4k between Freedom/Discover @ 5%; $360 + $120 = $480, minus $95 AF = $385, effective return ~4.58%
- NFCU More Rewards -or- AmEx BCE + Freedom/Discover - max rotating categories @ 5% for $3k, other $5.4k on More Rewards -or- AmEx BCE @ 3%; $150 + $162 = $312, effective return ~3.71%
- Altitude Go + Freedom/Discover - max rotating categories @ 5% for $3k, other $5.4k on Altitude Go @ 2%; $150 + $108 + $15 = $273, effective return ~3.25%
- Citi Premier + Freedom/Discover - if not redeeming for travel, my understanding is it would be a 3% card, as More Rewards/BCE example above, but with a $95 AF, thus $217 back, effective return ~2.58%
I know you wouldn't enjoy paying the AF on the BCP, but with that amount of grocery spend, you would make up that $95 and put $73 more in your pocket over a 3% card. The 6% on streaming is a nice bonus too!
Edit: If you don't like the idea of factoring in rotating cards and were to swipe only one card for grocery all year, BCP would still be the winner at $289 back ($360 + $24 - $95), with More Rewards coming in next at $252.
