Re: HELP! BCP to BCE

Thank you ALL for your replies! I think I may keep the BCP for a year and see if it might actually might be of some benefit to me. Gift cards are my top go to for gift giving.... *please don't judge me* . In a year I'll decide if I should downgrade. In the meantime I'll start cooking at home and start tracking spending.

Re: HELP! BCP to BCE

I did a downgrade not to long ago. BCP was open for a couple months, and moved my spending to another card. They downgraded me via chat and refunded a prorated annual fee. Very easy! Credit limit stayed the same.

I applied for and was approved for the BCP on 8/24. After researching the forums I have decided that as a single woman with no children the BCE might be a more suitable product for me...

Won't help you now but do the research and the math for your spend first in future.  You should know what your grocery spend and other spend subject to higher rewards earn rates are for a given card.  With that info you can easily compare what rewards would be for the BCE versus the BCP and account for the AF on the BCP in your comparison.

If you don't feel like running the numbers there are even charts comparing them in prior discussions.

Re: HELP! BCP to BCE

Yeah, that 6% caught my attention! I didn't really consider realistically how much I actually spend on groceries. Which isn't much as I've been eating out a lot lately. I do however plan on preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner at home... Thank you all for you advice! It is greatly appreciated!!
