Not sure if anybody has any luck with Chase EO, but it has been a sucky experience for some IMO simple requests.
First Story:
- My Freedom Card auto CLI from 3500 to 6500 and I was trying to convert to a Visa Signature before the usual 1 year requirment.
- The EO CSR kept saying yes I was eleigible to upgade to the Freedom Unlimited Signature, which I would earn 1.5% back
- I said I like the regular Freedom because of the categories and he assured me I would get the 5% categories and the 1.5%
- He didn't understand the difference between the cards, and said the only offer was for FU signature product chage.
- I declined (In his defense this was the first month the FU came out, but still know your products you offer!)
Second Story:
- Classic case, I want the Sapphire Reserve but I am over 5/24, (at 5/24 actually until 03/2018)
- EO CSR confirmed the 5/24 requirement and said exceptions cannot be made.
- I explained I know in branch approvals bypass this, based on the multiple datapoints, he said that is not true at all.
- I explained that one of those accounts was only open one month before being closed (Product change gone wrong at Citi, still fighting to get it removed from my CR, different story)
- He invited me to apply but explained I would need to bring that up with lending to try to get around it, which Im not willing to waste an inquiry since he made it sound futile
I honestly want the Reserve for the travel benifits, not a churner at all. Guess I need to take a day trip to the closest Chase Branch 4 hours away -_-
Have you checked your offers via the Chase banking site? I've been reading here that some have been able to get CSR while over 5/24 when it shows up there. (You can find it under Menu --> Explore products --> Your offiers)
Yup. Checked And I've seen the FU, Slate and CSP, but not the CSR. Haven't heard of anybody getting the CSR from he offers page either.
I've accepted the fact I have to drive to a branch or wait.
Just frustrated because the EO should be able to go around the red tape and save me a trip to another state!

The CSR does not show up for anyone under online offers. Only the CSP, Slate, Freedom and Freedom Unlimited card. The only way to bypass 5/24 is an in branch preapprovals.

Ah. My mistake. I find the whole thing confusing, frankly.
Here, let's create a policy that tries to eliminate churners, but excludes a whole segment of credit card users - then, let's bypass our own policy by offering cards to customers? Really? Why have the policy in the first place?

It is confusing and a bit unfair to those of us that don't live anywhere near a Chase branch.
