Re: Have Amex 61 CLI coming up. Good or Bad?

I think that will get you the cli.
They like usage and big payments.
I ran about $10k thru mine when I got to $24.5k from $10.5k.
As long as a $21k bal doesnt report, you're good to go! Lol

I think it's over $25k that the possibility for documention begins, so I'd go for $25k if I were you. I use my Amex and PIF once a month before the due date. I always let the balance report with Amex; some other CCs I PIF before the statement.

Good luck w/your CLI! Smiley Happy

Re: Have Amex 61 CLI coming up. Good or Bad?

If you would like a $30k limit and this is your only Amex, you might just go ahead and request a full $30k.
I keep forgetting I got $30k with no FR, but an excellent payment history. My EXP FICO is a solid 690-700. Right after I got a cli to $24.5k on BCE, I app'ed for Delta Gold and got an instant $5500.
So, $30k- no FR.
with your payment history, you should be fine. It's worth noting I had experience with a $25k limit when I was approved for that cli and the new account, although I'm unsure how much Amex factors in current limits for issuance of their limits.

Re: Have Amex 61 CLI coming up. Good or Bad?

Is it most common in these 61 day 3x CLI scenarios to ask for a flat out 3x increase, for 25k, or for 24.5k? Does it matter?

Re: Have Amex 61 CLI coming up. Good or Bad?

Not sure if its most common but it was once believed that asking for $25k meant auto tax request. However, there have been quite a few members who've discounted that theory.

Re: Have Amex 61 CLI coming up. Good or Bad?

Once again I wanted to confirm.

So my limit now is $10k. I want to get it to the $24.5k or whatever it is they allow without asking for info.

So when I ask for the increase I'm going to ask for another $14.5k? Or does it ask you "what do you want your limit to be?" and you put $24.5k?

You enter whatever you want your new limit to be, so put $24.5k if that's what you want to request.
