The good news of the day:  my Macy's just went from $600 to $2500 (now I wish I had asked for more), and JCrew just went from $250 to $550.   I submitted an online request with Capital One, but I think I should follow up with a phone call.  Great suggestions.

Lexie, Macy's was a SP.  I've had the card for almost three years and never asked for a CLI before. 

I will definitely check out your AMEX link.  I am new to AMEX and don't much about them yet.

If you've had the cap 1 card for awhile and have been stuck at your CL, send an email to the EO. You can do a search here for the contact information and read others users posts.

Shoot high, ask for everything, CLI, APR reduction, AF waived and rewards added.

What is an EO?  I've had the Cap 1 card since 2004, so for going on ten years.  CL has always been $500.  To my recollection, I don't think I've ever made a CLI request.  I hope they offer me something (even though I don't keep this card in my wallet and don't really care for it).

EO = Executive Office.  Typically, the channel used in the event all other methods have failed.  Here's a link for the Capital One EO.

Well, seems like today was a "portfolio overhaul/evaluation review" day.  It's a positive step in enhancing your current profile, so as long as those CLIs do not translate into getting into more debt, then it can only help.

Perfect! I am going to follow up on that. 

Just went from $850 to $1150 on Ann Taylor.  $900 increase across three Comenity accounts today - $1300 if you include last week's $400 VS increase.  Throw in the $1900 increase from Macy's, and I've added $3200 in available credit through increases.  This'll help for sure.  So glad I joined this forum.

Retail cards don't have nearly as much temptation for me as regular credit cards (I tend to do my biggest spending at restaurants and on travel, so the retail cards can't help me there).  I am going to be very disciplined
